ji hee lee crafts mouth-watering meals out of colorful pieces of paper

designboom-ever thought your mouth would water by looking at food crafted out of paper? we didn’t either, but after seeing korean paper artist’s ji lee hee work we may have changed our mind. from perfectly-round pizzas to sushi rolls and parmesan cheese, the artist transforms brightly-colored pieces of paper into the most delicious meals.

in 2017, designboom featured lee ji-hee’s paper work, where she folded paper into nostalgic-inducing classic cameras. the artist now returns with an almost-realistic series where complete meals are served into ready-to-eat plates. for instance, take the pizza on top of this page. the level of detail takes into consideration even the plate and a tabasco sauce for those who like spice. slices of red and yellow tomatoes sit next to perfectly-cut olives and onion rings.

when it comes to sushi rolls, the paper artists makes sure to slice it into pieces where the inside is revealed. when it comes to soup, the korean artists makes sure to serve the soup inside a round bread, with pieces of broccoli and cream. in the pictures, we can even see a pepper shaker laying on the table. the meals look so tasty, it would be difficult not to try to eat them.
