a stop motion fish made of plastic forks + spoons devastates marine life one frame at a time

designboom_colorful sporks, spoons, forks and LEGOs appear in the skeleton of a long dead turtle. the brightly colored plastics, now free from the turtle’s dusty ribcage, might look just as appetizing to a seagull. 800 species are harmed by these plastics. they kill, but never die. only one species knows not to eat these plastic lures and yet, that species casually continues to cast plastic buffets of sporky platters off to sea. this earth day, corona x parley released ‘THE FISH,’ astop motion animation by PES in collaboration with wieden + kennedy, that shows us how appetizing and harmful a single use straw can be._

creative agency wieden + kennedy worked with animator PES to create the film for corona x parely for the oceans.‘I see the problem of marine plastic pollution kind of like stop motion animation,’ says academy award nominated animator, PES. ‘at the start it seems like an insurmountable task. we have a lot of frames to make in the course of a production. but the only way to do it is really to go one frame at a time and to come together and solve the problem ourselves.’
