Andres reisinger shrouds hourglass cosmetics` NYC popup in a rosy blush veil
Designboom_ Artist Andrés Reisinger brings his billowing Take Over installation to New York City to celebrate the latest product drop of Hourglass Cosmetics, The Unreal Liquid Blush collection. This weekend, from July 12 — 14th, 2024, the NoLiTa facade will be cloaked in undulant pink drapery, bringing a dramatic moment of blush to 14 Prince Street. Of course, pink has become Reisinger’s trademark color, especially since he first began to digitally reimagine cities across the world with fluffy, flossy interventions
While these digital artworks bring an otherworldly quality to familiar streetscapes, the physical manifestations of the so-called Take Over series — so far seen in Miami and Jeddah — are uniquely stunning with their larger-than-life scale when experienced in-person within the context of the city street.
The Hourglass Unreal Liquid Blush collection palette includes seven shades — from the rosy Vision to the peachy Moment — which encompasses everything that makes pink so significant to artist Andrés Reisinger. This fascination has shaped his artistic practice, which extends beyond the draping Take Over public art series, and can be seen with his explorations in rose-hued fur and bubblegum furniture. Like the Take Over series, much of these works also exist in both the physical and digital world. His beloved Hortensia chair once existed as an NFT before it manifested as a physical piece comprising 20,000 pink petals.
